Large Private Company of the Year / Medium Sized Company of the Year
This year we will once again extend the reach of the awards to include Scottish Headquartered private companies with plc standards. In recognition of the fact that smaller companies are just as effective as large ones there will be 2 separate awards for private businesses split between profitable large companies with turnover exceeding £100m and medium sized companies with a turnover below £100m.
Innovation
The award category of Innovation has been developed to recognise the efforts of companies in the identification, development and launch of new concepts capable of enhancing business performance. The focus will be on how innovation has contributed to recent company performance.
Global Reach Award
An award for a plc which has, in 2008, grown and developed business across borders, as evidenced through sales, operations and requirement.
Sustainability
This will go to a plc which shows clear commitment to sustainable prcatices
Scotland plc CEO of the Year
The winner of this award will be CEO or Executive Chairman who has demonstrated creative leadership in a highly competitive market by implementing competitive strategies that have clearly moved the company forward and have resulted in tangible performance improvements. This award is open to any Chief Executive Officer or Executive Chairman of a Scottish headquartered plc, whether fully listed on the London Stock Exchange or on AIM with nominations being invited from readers of Scottish Business Insider and any other interested parties.
Large plc of the Year
This award is for a Scottish Head-quartered listed company with a turnover of more than £100m which demonstrates all round performance based on profitability, growth and productivity.
AIM/Mid sized cap plc of the Year
This award is for a Scottish Head-quartered listed company with a turnover below £100m which demonstrates all round performance based on profitability, growth and productivity.
Scottish plc of the Year
The award of plc of the year is to the Scottish plc with the strongest all round performance based on profitability, growth and productivity. Key ratios to evaluate performance are: return on capital employed, turnover, profit before tax on exceptionals, total return to shareholders over one and three year periods and share performance between January 2 2007 and December 31 2007.
